Interactive tools beyond the generated reference pages this wiki already has -- some built, some still planned.
Trades price guide
Every individual buy/sell listing across every wandering trader specialization, flattened into one sortable, filterable table (price/stock shown as a range, not just an average) -- in the spirit of vintagestorypriceguide.com. Open the trades page →
Schematic viewer
Upload a .json schematic (or open a bundled sample) and inspect it in 3D: block
legend with show/hide, a floor-by-floor slider, and click-to-inspect with decoded block-entity
data. Merged in from
jgwoolley/vintage-story-schematic-preview.
Every worldgen schematic in the game and its mods can be opened directly from its
schematic page or from a structure page.
Open the schematic viewer →
WayPoint planner
Track waypoints and translocator links on a map and find the cheapest route between any two. Ported from the vintage-story-price-guide project. Open the WayPoint planner →
Calendar
Convert an in-game date into elapsed game days and real-life hours. Open the calendar →
Painting/tapestry-in-ruins lookup
Work in progress
Right now, each painting/
tapestry page (and now, generally, every
item/block page) shows which
structures it's found in, built from a
flat pass over every schematic's block-code dictionary -- confirms the code is somewhere in that
schematic, not where or how many times. Tapestries already get a precise, per-instance version
of this (see the tapestries page, decoded
directly from each schematic's block-entity data); a proper lookup for paintings would need the
same per-instance decoding, evaluated against worldgen/storystructures.json and
worldgen/structures.json directly.
Chiseled blocks
The schematic viewer decodes chiseled blocks: click one and the block panel lists the materials it is made from, draws its shape in 3D and can export it as a file for QPTech's ChiselTools mod, with instructions on where to put it. (The main 3D view still draws a chiseled block as a plain cube.) See the research page for the data format.
Chiseled shape viewer
Upload a shape file saved by QPTech's ChiselTools mod (.pf save) and see the chiseled block in 3D with its
materials, or find the same shape in the game's schematics.
Open the chiseled shape viewer →
VS Code extension
The schematic and chiseled-shape previews are also available inside VS Code. Download the extension →
Schematic block/item search
Search every worldgen schematic for a block or item: where it is placed, which chiseled blocks use it as a material, which containers hold it and which random placeholders could produce it. The files are fetched and decoded in your browser, nothing is precomputed. Every item page links here with its code filled in. Open the schematic search →
Alloy ratio calculator
A slider per metal in an alloy (each limited to the recipe's allowed range) that computes the most metal bits a 4-slot crucible can hold at that ratio, using the real bit stack sizes. Open the alloy calculator →
Seed climate lookup
Enter a numeric world seed, the climate world options and a position to get the generated temperature, rainfall and geologic activity there, plus which wild plants and trees from this wiki's data can grow in that climate. A browser port of the game's realistic climate generator (seeded per-cell randomness + the north–south temperature gradient), approximate because the game's final simplex "wobble", forest/shrub maps and terrain height aren't ported.
